ATTENTION MSOT Members:
Manitoba is currently undergoing a difficult period as the province strategizes towards limiting the impact of COVID-19. The virus is challenging our roles to support the health and well-being of Manitobans.
It is important to commend the strength of our health system and Canadian community at large. MSOT honours the commitment of all members continuing their daily roles. We recognize the hardships that can be related to experiencing layoffs, a decline in referrals, service closures such as schools and daycares, and occupational deprivation. Our hearts and thoughts go out to all of you.
To monitor COVID-19 updates we encourage you to monitor the reliable resources supporting Canada’s response to date: https://www.canada.ca/en/employment-social-development/corporate/notices/coronavirus.html.
Manitoba’s response to date can be found at https://www.gov.mb.ca/covid19/ .
MSOT will continue to be an active advocate and professional practice resource for members and Manitoba occupational therapists. MSOT will respect provincial guidelines to abide by social distancing by holding meetings via online platforms and when appropriate canceling, postponing, or re-modelling group events.
MSOT is motivated to remain connected and support members through e-mails and online platforms such as virtual support groups. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any further thoughts, ideas, questions, or concerns during this time – email us at email@example.com .
Stay healthy and take care!
