As a member of MSOT, you can help build, promote and strengthen occupational therapy in Manitoba by joining one of the many MSOT committees and getting actively involved.
The Executive Committee provides direction and coordinates the work of the entire MSOT organization. This includes developing a strategic plan and approving an annual budget for the organization, providing direction to volunteers and staff working on behalf of MSOT and reporting to MSOT members on the work of the organization.
The Communications Committee manages the communication strategies of MSOT by providing oversight to both the Website Committee and the Newsletter Committee. The Communications Committee monitors the work of all MSOT committees to better coordinate the flow of information to members and relevant others.
The Newsletter Committee is a sub-committee of the Communications Committee, responsible for producing an informative and timely newsletter six times per year. The newsletter is a vehicle to inform the membership about MSOT executive functions and responsibilities, as well as current projects and upcoming events. It updates members on current events, conferences/workshops and pertinent research/articles. It advertises products, employment opportunities and events.
The Website Committee is a sub-committee of the Communications Committee that oversees the development and updating of information on the MSOT website. This ensures the information needs of MSOT members, the MB public and others, regarding the organization and occupational therapy practice in the province are continuously met.
Nominating and Awards Committee
The Nominating and Awards Committee actively recruits to fill each vacant office on the MSOT Executive and assists in identifying additional volunteers for committees. The Nominating and Awards Committee also strives to promote the profession of Occupational Therapy by means of awards of recognition to occupational therapists and occupational therapy students in Manitoba.
