Nominations Open for MSOT Outstanding OT Award

Do you know an outstanding OT?
It is time to begin thinking about who to nominate for the MSOT Outstanding OT Award. This award has been established to honor an MSOT member who has made an outstanding contribution to the profession. Criteria for this award include the following: The nominee most have made an outstanding contribution to the profession of Occupational Therapy in one or more of the following areas:
• Clinical Practice
• Education
• Research
• Administration
• Public Relations
• Politics
• Professional Development
Contributions must have had a significant impact on and have demonstrated marked benefits for the profession, for example,
• Publications
• Development, implementation and evaluation of new services and processes
• Change in the structure of clinical practice, education, or professional association
• Research which has had direct and specific effects on OT
To nominate an Outstanding OT, please submit the nomination form to the Awards and Nominations Committee for consideration. Nomination forms may also be picked up at the MSOT office.
The deadline for nominations is April 1, 2010. Previous nominations will be considered every year, but the award will be offered only when provincial recognition is merited.
The outstanding OT award will be presented at the annual MSOT Awards and New Grads Reception in May 2009 and the recipient will receive a complimentary ticket on behalf of MSOT.
